My wife is big into scrapbooking. She would tote her stuff out to the living room and spread out over the coffee table, the couch, the floor… She could never find half the stuff she needed-
So… it was time to give her some space to get organized. Somewhere she could spread out and not worry about picking it all up when she was done. Somwhere she could create.
I noticed countertops at Lowes one day. I designed her desk around a corner section of counters.. 6 feet long each way. I built the shelves and paper shelves and then mounted the counters to them and the wall.
Next came the pegboard, the small stamp shelves, and finally, the shelves up the wall on the left.
I think it turned out pretty good (though she still doesn’t have enough space for everything). She has her own space to create!

WHAT AN AWESOME IDEA. Thank you so much for mentioning the Lowes L shaped counter pieces. I needed an inexpensive alternative to crafting furniture, and here it is. Yahoo!!!

This is such a GREAT desk with many ideas for me! I, too, am soooo jealous, I would be thrilled to be able to have half of all these options…good job!
